About:

Medinilla myriantha is a spectacular, rare and exotic compact shrub from the Philippines that will be a tropical centrepiece in your garden. It is renowned for its stunning bright pink flowers which cascade downwards much like a chandelier. These dazzling flowers bloom into gorgeous fuchsia-coloured berries and can last up to two months before blooming again. Medinilla myriantha displays magnificent dark green voluptuous leaves which create a splendid array of foliage.

Growing:

Medinilla myriantha is typically a tropical plant, however it does withstand cool conditions, creating a tropical display for your garden all year round. Essentially, Medinilla myriantha grow at their highest potential in a sub-tropical and shady environment, however they will continue to prosper in semi-shade.  They grow up to 60 cm in height and 60 cm in width.

Medium water needs. Because they love the humidity, a handy tip for winter is to occasionally spray them with water to maintain this sort of environment.

Soil:

Medinilla myriantha should be planted in well-drained soil that is rich in organic matter.

Maintenance:

Fertilise with an appropriate fertiliser in the warmer months.
